2007 Black Label Hawkes Bay Syrah
Tasting Note
We have not had the opportunity to produce a
Black Label Syrah since the renowned 2002
vintage. Hence we are very excited about this
release – arguably the finest Syrah we have
produced to date.
A wine of exceptional balance and elegance
exhibiting classic spicy, cracked pepper
aromas, enhanced by subtle oak characters
from 18 months aging in French oak barriques.
The palate is generous with lovely soft, ripe
tannins, giving great fullness and length of
flavour.
The perfect wine to complement a mediumrare
peppered steak. Cellar for 5+ years with
confidence.

Reviews
A complex nose displaying dark plum, cedar, spice and game characters. The palate is medium-full and smooth with lovely mid palate weight and fine tannins leading to a gently drying finish. A well structured Syrah just starting to show some bottle matured complexity. At its best: now to 2013. Sam Kim, Dec 2010.
