2008 Black Label Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Note
Passionfruit, red capsicum and lychee fruit aromas lead the way to a soft, well rounded palate with a weighty mouth feel. The aromas experienced on the nose intermingle throughout the whole length of the wine. The 15% oak influence provides a subtle toastiness while a fine acidity contributes to the balance and adds a nice length to the finish.

A wine to enjoy with good company and great food – especially pan-fried seafood dishes.

As under screwcap, this wine can be cellared for 2 – 3 years for increased complexity.

Reviews
Grapes for this complex Sauvignon were sourced from their Kuranui Vineyard in the Awatere Valley. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks and a portion (15%) of the finished wine was matured in three-year-old oak barrels. The nose is restrained displaying grapefruit, nutty and herbaceous characters. The palate is beautifully weighted and finely textured with crisp acidity and a lengthy dry finish. A food-friendly Sauvignon showing gentle style and refinement. At its best: now to 2012. Sam Kim, 2010
