Tasting Note The new vintage is always eagerly awaited and the 2002 was certainly worth waiting for. A Pinot Meunier dominant, “typical”, Champagne blend. Made for Champagne connoisseurs and “bubbly” people alike.
The wine is youthful in appearance coloured pale straw with a green hue, while the bead is fine and consistent. Aromas of strawberries, honey-comb toast and ripe figs are present, fused into a background of seductive, “freshly baked bread” yeast autolysis characters.
The palate is fresh and lively and fills the mouth with fresh citrus flavours. Secondary ferment yeast characters present a creamy mouth feel which continues throughout the long, enlightening experience.
This is certainly a style that will combine well with any celebrations, chicken or seafood dishes or as pure indulgence on its own.
As it is “disgorged on demand” it can be consumed immediately or for added complexity may be cellared for 1 or 2 years from the purchase date.

91/100 (4.5 stars) Sam Kim, 2010
Reviews A richly flavoured méthode showing intense and complex aromas of yeast, roasted nuts and citrus. The palate is powerful and generously flavoured showing a well textured mouthfeel and integrated acidity. An impressive and sumptuous wine. At its best: now to 2012. Sam Kim, 2010.
