2009 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Note
February 2009 was very wet but March had half the average rainfall and April was fairly dry. That made conditions perfect for this Sauvignon which was harvested from our Awatere Valley vineyard in the second half of April.
It exhibits flavours of ripe gooseberry and red capsicum with hints of tropical fruit and passion-fruit characters. Structure is provided by a nice acidic backbone, giving the
wine good purity and energy.
A perfect match to most seafood dishes, especially panfried scallops.
May be cellared for up to 2 years for added complexity.
